23 Sep 2026 - Update: Rarity, Guilds & QoL
Rarity, reforged
- Every kind of gear now awakens with powers that fit the slot: weapons roll Attack, Critical, Life and Mana Leech, Elemental Strike and a skill bonus (two-handers add Health on Kill); wands and rods roll Magic Level; helmets, armor and legs roll Armor, Magic Protection, Healing, Max Health, Max Mana and Luck; boots swap in Speed; shields add Defense and Reflect; rings and amulets carry Speed, Potion Efficiency, Healing, the vitals and Double Conjure; backpacks give Capacity.
- The "always-on" powers (Max Health, Max Mana, skills, Magic Level, Speed, Capacity) now apply the instant you equip a piece and update the moment you swap gear.
- The five orbs are settled: Awakening (fill a slot), Fate (reroll), Ancient (raise the tier), Upgrade (raise the Power), Cleaner (wipe and start over).
- The Halera store boots, ring, amulet and backpack can now be awakened like anything else.
Blessings
- A holy icon at the top of the screen shows how many of the five blessings you carry (0/5). Each one still cuts your death loss by 8%.
Guilds
- Guild leaders and vice-leaders can invite straight from the Guild window; the invite waits in the recruit's Guild Inbox to accept or decline.
- A guild leader may buy a guildhall - but you may own a personal house or a guildhall, not both.
Dungeons
- The Dungeons window now shows solo and group clear-time leaderboards per difficulty, with your own best run highlighted.
Quality of life
- Up to 3 characters online per account.
- Mana and life fluids pour out on the ground again when you use them on a tile. By default no empty vials are left behind (keeps the map clean); say !vials if you would rather keep them.
- Prism cores now stack.
Fixes
- The Annihilator's inner door opens for anyone past the level door.
- Ghost ship and parchment-room quests give their proper rewards.
- Dungeon clear times record correctly and show on the leaderboards.
- Wands no longer roll a melee Attack bonus.
Everything above is live. The full guide is on the Game Systems page.

18 Sep 2026 - Update: Defense, daily, loot
Lands with the next server restart (daily 10:00)
Fighting like old-school
- Defense and armor now use the old-school formulas. Defensive fight mode doubles your defense, balanced gives +20%, and attacking no longer weakens your guard. A block can take anywhere from nothing up to your full defense value, and armor reduces hits the way it did in old-school. Fighting bare-handed defends nothing, so keep a shield or weapon in hand.
- A body (corpse) can only be dragged 2 squares at a time - no more throwing corpses across the screen.
Autoloot, old-school style
- Your autoloot list no longer empties bodies on its own. Open a monster's body and your listed items (and banked coins, if unlocked) jump into your bag in one click; everything else stays in the body for you to look through. Same list, same commands (!autoloot).
Daily reward
- Now one reward per account per day (any character of level 8+), with a 7-day ladder that builds up and starts over after day 7. Miss a day and you are back to day 1. Rewards are sized for a old-school economy: 50 to 400 gold, with crystal shards on day 3, a boss coin on day 5 and an orb of awakening on day 7. Doublers still double everything.
- Claim it from the World window (new Daily tab, client r22) or with !daily.
Commands
- !spells opens your vocation's complete spell book: every spell by level with words, mana and soul cost, and which ones you can already cast.
Client (r22)
- World window: Daily tab with the reward ladder and a Claim button.
- Skills window: Regeneration Time countdown (how long your food keeps you regenerating), orange under 5 minutes. The Stamina row is gone - there is no stamina in old-school.
- The r22 download is optional; r20 keeps working and will simply not show the two new windows.
Fixes
- Campfires, fire fields and poison fields do old-school damage again: a campfire hits 20 when you step on it, then 10 twice; a fire field 20 then 10 every ten seconds; poison ticks every five seconds.
- Empowered, Elite and Ancient monsters count for kill tasks and Dynasty board quests like the plain creature.
- The multitool pulls a creature up through a hole, like a rope.
- Magic shops give a new mage the one free weapon of their vocation (sorcerers a wand of vortex, druids a snakebite rod), not both.
- Following a friend survives stairs and holes: when the one you follow comes back into view, you fall in behind them again.
- The two dead-end doors in the Thais Ancient Temple open.
- Client r24: AFK Training really eats from an open backpack now (the food list used the wrong item numbers).
Also in this restart
- Client r25 (optional): protection-zone icon in the condition bar, AFK training eats again, sealed client files.
- Thais Lighthouse Quest is the real two-player version: lever under the crates, switch plate in the north passage, lever in the cellar, then the teleporter.
- The Oracle offers all nine cities.
- Rune-making follows the old-school table (levels, mana, magic level); no soul points, as it was.
- No vocation locks on equipment; only wands and rods keep theirs.
- Promotions work at King Tibianus, Ishebad and Daniel Steelsoul (20,000 gold).
- Buying more than one stack of fluids or runes delivers all of them.
- Items from an open corpse go into an open bag on the floor even next to a cave wall.
- Uzgod, Kroox and Noodles talk again: NPCs with special greetings ("hail king") used to break the greeting of whichever NPCs spawned after them.
- The bank understands "transfer 100 to Name" in one line.
- The bottomless mead tops you up to 5 minutes of regeneration and no further.

18 Sep 2026 - Update: Old-School Batch
This update brings Halera Retro much closer to how old-school Tibia actually played. It lands with the next server restart (daily 10:01, or earlier when the server is empty). Please download the new client afterwards - the downloads page always links the current one.
Old-school mechanics
- Regeneration is back to old-school speed: 1 hitpoint and 2 mana per tick, at each vocation's own rhythm. Bring food, sit down between hunts.
- Spell exhaustion is back: attack spells and attack runes share a 2 second exhaust, healing spells and healing runes 1 second. No more instant exura spam.
- Armor values are old-school again (for example golden helmet 12, demon helmet 10, magic plate armor 17, crown armor 13). Boots of haste +20, time ring +15.
- Coins weigh 0.1 oz each, like retail.
- Melee weapons have no vocation lock any more - your skill decides. Wands and rods have their old-school level requirements and work for promoted vocations.
- Runes cannot be used on players from the battle list - aim on the map. Monsters are unaffected.
- No stamina, no black skull (both came with later versions). Attacks run on the fixed 2 second clock.
- Anyone can loot any corpse straight away - no owner lock.
- Pushing another creature is limited to once every 2 seconds.
Stacks and supplies
- Runes stack up to 15 runes per stack, whatever their charges.
- Mana fluid and life fluid are now stackable items (20 per stack) sold by every magic shop. Filled vials found in the world were converted.
- Up to 3 characters may be online from one connection.
NPCs and quests
- Every shop keeper now answers "trade" (or "wares") with a read-out of what they sell and buy. Willard, Uzgod, Nah'bob, Liane, Haroun, Yaman, Alesar, Miraia, Chantalle, Briasol, Talphion, Dove and Snake Eye trade again.
- Cipfried, Zerbrus and the other healers heal on request again.
- Xodet and the other magic shops sell mana/life fluid when you ask for "mana" or "life".
- The Doublet quest rewards a doublet.
- The djinn (Baa'leal, Ubaid, Umar) and the Riddler talk again.
- A rope pulls a creature standing under a hole up to you, as in 7.x.
New area: The Ashen Priory
An island south of Thais with a ruined monastery, catacombs, a crypt and a sanctum. Captain Hollis sails there from the Thais pier west of the depot (60 gold). Brother Aldous in the hut by the island dock tells the tale. The Ashen Vows (level 45): read the abbot's journal, light the three candles, find the abbot's key in the crypt, call Abbot Morvane at the altar and choose one of six treasures.
Client (r19)
- Capacity shows the right number.
- AFK Training eats any food from an open backpack (mead first), right away and every 3 minutes; the mana box accepts "20" (mana points) or "40%".
- Items and runes cannot be placed on the action bar - spells and text only.
- The classic old-school dead bug sprite.
- Halera boots, ring and amulet now really give their speed and regeneration; the boots read +5 speed and the amulet +10, as the store says.
Fixes
- Character deletion on the account page works; registration asks for an account number (6-9 digits), which is what you log in with.
- The website shop shows the full catalogue again.
- Guild founders take their seat immediately, and the chosen emblem is saved.
- The Loot channel is read-only.
- Damage lines from other people's fights no longer fill the server log.
- The practice minotaur hits back for exactly 1, so shielding trains too.
